Saudi women are granted the right to voting and candidacy in 2015 elections

Saudi women are granted the right to voting and candidacy in 2015 elections

On September 25 2011 the Saudi women are granted the right to voting and candidacy by King Abdullah.

The announcement by King Abdullah came in an annual speech before Shura Council which is his advisory assembly,. The king made his announcement after he consulted with the nation’s top religious clerics, whose advice are highly valued in the kingdom.

This step is the second major step after what the king announced in March of pumping $93 billion package of incentives, jobs and services to ease the hardships experienced by some Saudis.

Do the Saudi women still ask for the right to drive?. The next coming days will have the answer to this question.
