former Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko intends to extend her food ration

The State Penal Service says former Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko, the leader of the Batkivschyna Party, intends to extend her food ration.

Ukrainian News learned this from a statement by the press service of the State Penal Service.

"At a meeting with the German doctors Yulia Tymoshenko said she intended to extend her food ration," reads the statement.

The State Penal Service stresses the administration of the Kachanivska women's penal colony has not received any official statements from Yulia Tymoshenko concerning the hunger strike.

As Ukrainian News earlier reported, the Prosecutor General's Office on May 4 confirmed that Yulia Tymoshenko does not eat and drinks juices and water for several days.

On April 20, Yulia Tymoshenko went on a hunger strike at the Kachanivska women's penal colony in Kharkiv in protest against the political situation in Ukraine.
